Microcurrent is a non-surgical face lift that instantly lifts, tones and re-educates sagging muscles. It has been called “The Red Carpet Facial”, because so many of the movie stars will get Microcurrent before events because they know that it gives that instant lift that takes years off they true age. Microcurrent is a low level of electrical current that mirrors your own body’s natural current, which is a sub-sensory and therefore barely noticeable to the one whom it is being performed. Microcurrent reeducates the mucles to lift by reprogramming muscle fiber. Clinical studies have shown that after a series of treatments, collagen production increases by 14%, elastin increases by 48%, and blood circulation increases by 38%. Scientists have also found that microcurrent triggers the own body’s production of amino acids and a substance called adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) which speeds up cellular repair and helps the muscle stay lifted.

The number of sessions depends on the clients age and their skin condition.

Clients will go thru a series of treatments followed by a regular maintenance to keep that more youthful appearance. Each time you receive a treatment, the muscles maintain their position better and longer. Typically, clients will notice a 5 to 7 year reduction in facial aging. You can receive Microcurrent at almost any age. Those in the 20-30 year age range can use it as a preventative to slow down the aging process. In the 30-40 year old range will need less treatments than someone in there 40-60’s. After an initial examination, a Mint Spa therapist will better be able to advise you on your treatment plan.

Microcurrent is perfect for special occasions or just a quick pick-me-up. Mothers of brides love this treatment right before the wedding day because it takes years off of them. The camera can make us normally look heavier and older.

Microcurrent is also wonderful to use after a surgical facelift to help maintain the results. When micro current is combined with injectables, it maximizes the end result. Injectables do nothing for muscle contour, or collagen and elastin production, but can give that “filling” effect. If having Botox or fillers, it is best to wait 2 weeks before receiving Microcurrent.
