How to Prepare Properly For A Wax
September 12, 2016Why You Should Get A Massage Today
October 14, 2016No matter where you live, Fall weather can mess with your skin big time!
Fall weather can be troublesome for skin because the air starts getting cooler, humidity drops, and we start taking hotter showers and crank our heaters up to cope. Don’t fret too much though! If you change your skin care regimen just a tad you will be able to preserve that beautiful, clear Summer skin all the way through the Fall season.
Here are four easy tips to remember when the leaves start to turn and the weather starts to change.
1) Use a humidifier.
Everybody loves the crisp, cold feeling of a beautiful Fall day. But this also means that the air is much more dry than it is in the Summer. The crisp air that you love so much means that humidity has been sucked out of the air, and your skin will be missing it! Help to combat this by installing a humidifier in your room at night while you sleep. This has multiple positive applications, as it will keep dry nasal passages, colds, and sinus infections at bay as well! You can even add some essential oils for extra benefits.
2) Still remember to put on sunscreen!
It might seem unimportant to wear sunscreen when you aren’t frolicking about in the Summer sun every day anymore. However, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Just because the temperature drops, doesn’t mean that UV rays disappear. UV rays can be extremely damaging to the skin, causing wrinkles, dark spots, and even skin cancer later down the line. Make sure to apply at least SPF 15 everyday before leaving the house, and reapply during the day if needed.
3) Make sure you have the right face wash.
Try to use only moisturizing face washes. If your skin feels stripped and squeaky clean after you cleanse, then you are most likely using way too harsh of a product. The most important thing this time of year is to protect the barrier between your skin and the environment. Natural oils are important, and your skin will already be fighting against the super hot and steamy showers you will most likely be taking. Don’t give it another reason to be dry and ashy!
4) Moisturize
Always, always moisturize! The best time to do this is right after you get out of the shower and towel pat dry. This will help to seal in the moisture before the pores close. Do this daily, and your skin will definitely be thanking you.
