Dying Spa Trends For 2015
As 2015 comes to a close, it is time to reflect on some of the spa trends that became popular this year. Here are some trends that will probably not make it another year.
Despite the moniker that seems to imply that people will be submerged in water, this does not involve an actual bath in any capacity. This is when people take walks in the forest that are intended to cleanse them of all the mental and emotional baggage they have been carrying with them. In addition to those benefits, it has also been found that this helps with heart rate, blood pressure and cortisol levels.
While this has been popular in Japan for countless years, other countries started taking notice and adding forest bathing to menus at day spas and retreats. The problem with this trend is that it is certainly not for everyone. When people try it and they do not receive the enlightenment they were seeking after a couple of visits, they don’t return. This was a very popular concept earlier in the year, but at this point, people are looking for another trend to satisfy their spa cravings.
With a large number of people trying to save money and create a solid financial future for themselves and their families, it should come as no surprise that DIY treatments were high on the 2015 spa trend lists. many manufacturers created spa treatments that could be done at home and people clamored for them. The faster the products hit store shelves, the sooner retailers had to order more stock.
This saved money, but the reality is that doing treatments at home is not a replacement for getting pampered at day spas. The ambiance and overall experience are very different, and many people did not take this into consideration when they were switching to home treatments. As the year comes to a close, it seems like more products are staying on a shelf at the store and more people are headed back to day spas.
Spa trends change each year, and some of them are so popular that they become trends of many years to follow. While those that were mentioned here were once so popular that people would not stop chattering about them, by the time next year hits, they will have new concepts that they will find far more exciting.
