June 15, 2014These days it seems people are determined to have perfectly glowing skin. Some will go to any lengths to achieve perfection and have taken to the internet to find the newest facial procedure to keep them looking their best. The internet can be a great place to find out about the latest technologies and newest innovations in this field, but it can also showcase some weird, unconventional practices. Currently there are three treatments being praised all over the internet that are not just odd, but downright bizarre. Consumer may want to think twice before tying any of these.
1. The Snail Massage:
Yes, this is a facial involving snails. It is not currently available in the United States, but that hasn’t stopped people from talking about it. Three large snails are placed on the clients face and they slither around for about twenty minutes. The mucous they secret is said to have properties to fight wrinkles and severe skin conditions like acne. Right now the creator of this treatment, Diane Gower, is the only one performing the treatment at her spa in Northamptonshire, but she claims the results are real. There are no known side-effects at this time, but many consumer may not be able to get passed the slimy feeling
2. The Vampire Facial:
This facial was first made famous by reality star Kim Kardashian and naturally, as the name implies, involves using an individuals own blood to fight wrinkles and lift impurities. Blood is drawn from the clients arm and their face is numbed using a cream. The technician puts their blood through a centrifuge to separate the platelets the re-injects it into the clients face using tiny needle. The procedure is painful and must be done over several visits to stimulate new collagen growth. It should also be noted that not everyone is licensed to perform this type of procedure because if done improperly it can cause permanent facial damage.
3. The Ablaze Facial:
Unbelievably this treatment, which comes from China, involves setting a person’s face on fire for a few seconds. A technician applies a towel dipped in a special elixir to the clients problem areas, adds a small amount of alcohol and then sets it on fire for about five seconds. A second cloth is used to put it out.The heat, combined with the elixir is said to fight sagging, dull skin skin and wrinkles. The dangers involved with this procedure, like burns to the face and neck, can permanently disfigure someone.
